Cookie Policy

What Lingivio Translate stores in your browser, why, and for how long. This page covers cookies and browser storage alike, and says which each item is. The short version: everything the app sets is strictly necessary or a preference, except two analytics items that are stored only if you allow that category and are deleted if you withdraw.

Categories

Strictly necessary: needed for the service to work at all — signing you in, keeping you signed in, and protecting the sign-in flow from cross-site attacks. These cannot be switched off, and no consent is required for them.

Functional preferences: your language and light or dark theme. These only remember a choice you made and are stored in your browser.

Analytics: off unless you allow it. Allowing it lets us count page views with a cookieless measurement script from Cloudflare, remember an opaque random identifier so one visit is counted once, and remember which campaign or site you first arrived from. It never records what is in your documents. Refusing means the script is never put in the page and neither item is stored; withdrawing later deletes both.

Diagnostics: off unless you allow it. Allowing it lets an error-reporting script send us the details of a crash in your browser so we can fix it. It is only ever active on a deployment where we have configured that service, and never without your consent.

Cookies and browser storage

Your light or dark theme choice is kept in your browser local storage rather than in a cookie, so it is never sent to us. Your consent choice is kept in a cookie instead, and it has to be: it is what lets our server decide not to put a third-party analytics script into the page in the first place, which is the only way a refusal can actually be honoured. Clearing your browser data removes both, and we will ask again.

Third party cookies

The only third-party cookies in the product are set by our payment provider on the checkout page, when its script and payment frame load. They are subject to its own cookie and privacy policies. The Cloudflare measurement script we load when you allow analytics is a third-party script but sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser, which is why it has no row in the table above.

Changing your choice

Use the cookie settings control in the footer, on this page, or in your account settings to change your choice at any time. Withdrawing is one click, exactly like giving it, and takes effect immediately without a page reload. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser, which signs you out, resets every preference, and means we will ask you again.

Cookies, analytics and diagnostics

Only strictly necessary cookies are used to sign you in and remember your preferences. We would also like your permission for analytics, so we can see which parts of the product are used, and for diagnostics, so browser errors are reported to us. Nothing non-essential runs unless you say yes, and you can change this at any time.Read the Cookie Policy
